Privacy policy

Actorly has no server and no account of its own. Your Apify session stays on your phone, and the app talks to Apify and no one else.

Effective October 10, 2026
The short version
  • We receive none of your data. There is no Actorly server, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
  • You sign in on Apify's own page. Your password goes to Apify, never to Actorly.
  • What the app keeps (your Apify session, your theme, the widget's figures) stays on your phone.
  • The app sends what it needs to Apify and to no one else: your sign-in, your Store searches and the input of the actors you run. Google Play lists that as collected data, because it leaves your phone.

Who we are

Actorly is a free Android app for Apify accounts, made by Anshuman Atrey, an independent developer. It is an unofficial client, not affiliated with or endorsed by Apify. In this policy, "we" means the developer. Questions go to build@atrey.dev.

What the app stores on your phone

Actorly keeps a little data in its private storage on your device, which Android keeps closed to other apps:

  • Your Apify sign-in: the session cookie and Console token Apify issues when you sign in, and your Apify user ID and username. The app needs them to load your data.
  • The sign-in page's cookies, kept by the in-app browser you sign in with.
  • Your theme: system, light or dark.
  • The home-screen widget's figures: today's and this month's earnings, run counts, a 14-day profit series, and your top actors' names, earnings and failure rates.

None of it is sent to us. We don't have a server to send it to.

Who the app talks to

Only Apify, over encrypted connections (HTTPS and secure WebSocket):

  • console.apify.com, Apify's sign-in page and Console, shown inside the app when you sign in;
  • api.apify.com and console-backend.apify.com, which return your account, runs, usage and earnings;
  • Apify's servers for actor pictures and Apify Store listings.

Apify handles that data under its own privacy policy. When you start an actor from the app, Apify runs it and bills it to your account, exactly as if you had started it in Apify Console.

Signing in

You sign in on Apify's own sign-in page, opened inside the app. Your email and password, your Google or GitHub login and any two-factor code go straight to Apify. Actorly never sees or stores your password; it keeps only the session Apify hands back once you are signed in.

What leaves your phone

Nothing comes to us. Actorly contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code, and it does not read your location, contacts, files, camera or microphone. We don't sell, share or rent data, because we don't receive any.

To do what you ask, the app sends some data to Apify. Google Play's Data safety section lists it as collected, because Google counts anything that leaves your phone, even when it goes only to the service you use:

  • Email address and user ID: your email goes to Apify when you type it on Apify's sign-in page, and the app sends your Apify user ID with its requests to load your account, runs and earnings.
  • Search history: what you type into Store search, sent to Apify to find actors.
  • Input you write: the input you give an actor when you start it, sent to Apify to run it.

It is used only for the feature you are using, it is encrypted in transit, and it goes to Apify and no one else. Nothing is stored anywhere but your phone and your Apify account.

Emails you send us

In the app, your profile has Report a bug and Request a feature. Both open your own email app with a message to us, with the app's version and your Android version filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send. We use what you send only to reply and to improve the app, and we delete it when you ask.

Background refresh

While a widget is on your home screen, Android asks Actorly to refresh it about every half hour. The refresh uses the session stored on your phone to fetch your figures from Apify. Android may delay it to save battery.

Permissions

  • Internet: to reach Apify.
  • Network state: to wait for a connection before refreshing the widget.
  • Run at startup: to schedule the widget's refresh again after your phone restarts.

Deleting your data

Everything lives on your phone, so you control it:

  • Sign out (tap your picture, then Sign out) removes your Apify sign-in from Actorly.
  • Clear storage (Android Settings, Apps, Actorly, Storage, Clear storage) or uninstalling removes everything the app has stored, including the widget's figures and the sign-in page's cookies.

Your Apify account and its data are Apify's to manage. Delete your data has the steps for both.

Children

Actorly is made for adults who run Apify accounts and is not directed at children. We receive no data from anyone, children included.

Security

Everything the app sends to Apify is encrypted in transit. On your phone, the app's storage is private to Actorly, and a screen lock protects it further. If you lose your phone, change your Apify password.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what the app stores or who it talks to, the app's release notes will say so.
